Installation Requirements
- Miniature bi-pin bases will NOT install into T8 or T12 sockets
- Requires UL Listed 600 Volt rated sockets
- Requires high frequency programmed rapid start electronic ballasts for T5 lamps
- Ballast must be equipped with end-of-life sensing circuit for safety
- Apply thermal factor in calculations for exterior or unheated applications
Important Safety Notice: T2, T4, and T5 fluorescent lamps operated on high frequency ballasts may experience abnormal end-of-life phenomena, including bulb wall cracking near the lamp base or base area overheating. NEMA recommends high frequency ballasts include end-of-life shutdown circuits to prevent these rare failures.
Environmental Compliance: SYLVANIA ECOLOGIC fluorescent lamps pass the Federal Toxic Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) criteria for classification as non-hazardous waste in most states. Lamp disposal regulations vary by location—check your local and state regulations. TCLP test results available upon request.
