The new XIR lamps from Osram provide more light and greater efficiency in the operating theatre
than standard halogen lamps. Their high luminous efficacy is achieved by a special coating on the bulb
(IRC = Infra-Red-Coating). This is further enhanced by a xenon gas filling.
