Product Overview

Low frequency electronic HID ballasts such as the Philips Advance e-Vision line continuously measure and adjust lamp wattage, which keeps the superior color properties of ceramic metal halide lamps stable over life. That makes e-Vision the preferred choice for applications that were once lit with tungsten halogen or incandescent sources, such as retail lighting.

Before Ordering

• Lamp: confirm the lamp is two 39W ceramic metal halide lamps (ANSI M130/C130).
• Lead exit: this is the BLS version (bottom exit leads with mounting studs); the LF version is a separate catalog number.
• Voltage: Intellivolt accepts 120V through 277V at 50/60 Hz.

Safety and Handling

• Disconnect power before installing or servicing, and have the work done by a qualified electrician.
• The ballast case must be grounded; connect the green lead to the fixture ground.
• Lead functions: black and white are input power, red is lamp base, blue is lamp screwshell, green is ground; orange and brown are the second lamp base and screwshell.
• Do not exceed the 85°C maximum case temperature; excess heat shortens life and can trip the resettable thermal protector.
• With screw-base lamps, connect the red lead to the center terminal of the lamp socket (and the orange lead for the second lamp).
• The ballast output shuts down after 20 minutes if the lamp fails to ignite.
• Cycle power off, then on, after replacing a lamp.
• If one lamp fails, the other lamp stays lit.
