A U-bend lamp puts the same lamp length into about half the footprint of a straight 4-foot tube, which is why it is used in 2x2 troffers in offices, schools and healthcare buildings. This is the 6-inch leg spacing version.
The 3500K color is a neutral white, warmer than 4100K and cooler than 3000K. Philips classifies the lamp as an energy saving product. Order the lamp with the matching leg spacing: lamps with 1-5/8 inch leg spacing are a different order code.
T8 lamps have a 1-inch (26 mm) tube. T8 and T12 lamps share the same G13 base, so the base alone will not tell you which type your fixture uses; match the wattage, length and lamp code printed on the end of the lamp you are replacing.
