The protective coating is a Teflon material rated for high temperature (up to 200°C) with no degradation under temperature or UV, and the lamp is listed as compliant with IEC 61549, the fragment retention lamp standard. Philips describes the Secura as a direct retrofit for all TL5 HE lamps.
