GE T5 electronic ballasts in the T5 High Efficiency family are designed for high-frequency operation of T5 linear fluorescent lamps, with programmed rapid-start circuitry intended to extend lamp life across frequent switching cycles. High Efficiency T5 lamps deliver over 100 lumens per watt for lower operating costs and less glare in office and commercial spaces with lower ceiling heights, while High Output T5 lamps are designed to produce maximum light output for high-bay, industrial, and warehouse facilities and HID-replacement projects.
Ballast factor matters: a ballast factor below 1.00 reduces light output and energy use, a ballast factor at or near 1.00 provides standard output, and a ballast factor above 1.00 increases light output where more illumination is needed — confirm the correct variant for the fixture before ordering.
