The Current / GE 62329 LED36T8/G/8/840 is an 8 ft T8 Type C LED glass tube with an Fa8 single-pin base, drawing 36W per lamp and producing 4400 initial lumens at 4000K cool white with 80 CRI. Unlike the LumenChoice selectable tubes, this lamp runs at a fixed 36W and pairs with the 63126 LED36T8/DR/D2L fixed-wattage remote driver, which supports up to two tubes. Rated life is 50,000 hours to L70 with a damp location rating and 0-10V dimming through the driver.

Product Overview

Eight-foot fluorescent strips remain common in warehouses, parking structures, and older industrial buildings, and they are among the most expensive fixtures to keep in fluorescent service. The 62329 is Current's Type C answer for those fixtures: a single 8 ft T8 glass tube on an Fa8 single-pin base, drawing 36W and delivering 4400 lumens.

Type C is an external-driver LED tube architecture. The tube itself contains no internal driver; a dedicated remote LED driver converts line voltage to low-voltage Class 2 DC and feeds the lampholders directly. Existing fluorescent ballasts must be removed and the fixture rewired to the remote driver before these tubes will operate. This arrangement is what allows 0-10V dimming and field-tunable output across an entire installation from a small number of control devices.

This lamp differs from the LumenChoice T8 and T5 tubes in one important way: its wattage is fixed at 36W rather than field-selectable, so it is paired with the 63126 fixed-wattage driver instead of the 6-18W LumenChoice drivers. One 63126 driver serves a maximum of two lamps. Rated life is 50,000 hours to L70, which is lower than the 70,000-hour LumenChoice glass tubes and carries the corresponding 5-year rather than 7-year limited warranty. Before Ordering – Verify

• Confirm the 63126 LED36T8/DR/D2L driver is included. This tube requires a Type C remote driver and is not compatible with the 6-18W LumenChoice drivers.
• Confirm the lampholder is Fa8 single pin, not the recessed double contact (R17d) used by 8 ft HO fluorescent lamps. The two are not interchangeable.
• Confirm the existing ballast will be removed and the fixture rewired to the low-voltage DC driver output.
• Confirm the color temperature. This lamp is 4000K; the family is also offered in 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K.
• Confirm no more than two lamps are wired to each 63126 driver.
• Confirm the fixture accepts a 96 in. maximum overall length lamp.
• Confirm the location is dry or damp; this product is not rated for wet locations.

Safety and Handling Guidelines

• De-energize the circuit before removing the ballast or installing the remote driver.
• Eight-foot glass tubes are long and fragile; use two people and support the tube at both ends during handling and installation.
• Ballast removal and driver wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local codes.
• Label the converted fixture so future service personnel do not attempt to install a ballast-driven lamp.
• Do not operate the tube outside the -20°C to 45°C ambient temperature rating.
• Recycle or dispose of removed fluorescent lamps and ballasts according to local regulations.
