The Sylvania METALARC Pro-Tech series (also known as MP lamps) features a built-in shroud that safely contains glass and arc-tube fragments in the event of a non-passive arc tube failure. This advanced safety design allows these 1000W metal halide lamps to be used in open fixtures as well as enclosed ones, providing greater installation flexibility and reduced fixture costs.
