Operation, Safety & Mounting Compliance
Lampholder Type, Ballast Compatibility & Octron 700 vs 800 Series
As with all 4-foot T8 linear fluorescent lamps, the lampholder type must match the ballast starting method. Instant-start ballasts require un-shunted lampholders where both pin contacts within each socket are electrically isolated. Programmed-start ballasts require shunted lampholders where both contacts are internally connected. Installing the wrong lampholder type for the ballast causes non-ignition or premature lamp failure. The Octron 700 series provides CRI 78 — adequate for general commercial task and ambient lighting. For applications requiring higher color fidelity, the Sylvania Octron 800 series (FO32/835/ECO or FO32/841/ECO) provides CRI 82–85 at the same wattage and form factor.
Ecologic® Mercury Content, TCLP Compliance & Disposal
This lamp contains mercury and must be recycled through a certified lamp recycling program in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Ecologic® reduced-mercury formulation is TCLP compliant, qualifying spent lamps for non-hazardous waste disposal treatment in applicable jurisdictions.
