This lamp delivers instant-on operation with full light output and stable color from the moment it's energized, unlike HID sources which require a warm-up period to reach full brightness and can take several minutes to restrike after a power interruption. The passive cooling design (no internal fan) is intended to improve long-term reliability versus actively-cooled LED HID replacements, since there's no fan component subject to mechanical wear.
