Type A

Type A LED T8 tubes are ballast-compatible (plug-and-play) lamps designed to work with existing fluorescent ballasts. Most models require no rewiring — simply replace the fluorescent lamp and the fixture continues to operate with the original ballast.

This category includes Philips MasterClass InstantFit and other UL Type A linear LED tubes in common commercial lengths (24", 36", 48") and color temperatures from 3000K warm white through 5000K daylight. Many are dimmable and carry DLC listings for utility rebate programs.

Choose Type A when you want the fastest, lowest-labor retrofit and your existing ballast is still reliable. Always verify ballast compatibility using the manufacturer’s current list before ordering.
