Philips Advance Centium ICN-2S39 Programmed-Start T5HO Ballast | 120-277V | (1-2) F24T5/HO or F39T5/HO
The Philips Advance Centium ICN-2S39 is a programmed-start electronic ballast for one or two F24T5/HO or F39T5/HO lamps on 120V to 277V. It is the broadest-fitting ballast in this T5HO group: it also operates one or two 4-pin long compact lamps (24W and 36W classes) and one or two FC9T5 or FC12T5 circline lamps, including one of each together. Programmed start helps extend lamp life on circuits that switch frequently.

Product Overview
The ICN-2S39 runs two F39T5/HO lamps on one ballast, which the ICN-2S24 does not, and it also covers F24T5/HO, 4-pin long compact and circline lamps. Ballast factor changes with the lamp type, from 0.90 to 1.12, so light output and input power will differ slightly depending on the lamps you use; see the table above.
- Programmed start: preheats the lamp electrodes before ignition, which can extend lamp life in applications with frequent switching, such as occupancy sensors, motion detectors and daylight harvesting.
- IntelliVolt multi-voltage input: one ballast operates on any supply voltage from 120V through 277V (50/60 Hz), which simplifies ordering and installation.
- Auto-restrike: restarts lamps after a lamp is replaced without having to reset power.
- Lamp end-of-life (EOL) protection: safely removes power from a lamp when it fails.
- High-frequency operation (42–52 kHz): designed to avoid interference with infrared devices and anti-theft systems and to eliminate visible flicker.
- Energy-saving lamp compatible: Philips Advance T5HO ballasts are compatible with energy-saving lamps.

Before Ordering
- Confirm the lamp type and lamp count against the table above, including the ballast factor for your lamp.
- Check your supply voltage is between 120V and 277V (50/60 Hz).
- Compare the case size (16.70 in L x 1.18 in W x 1.00 in H) with the space in your fixture.
- If you are replacing an older ballast, match the number of lamps and lamp type printed on the old ballast label.
Safety and Handling
- Turn off power at the breaker before installing or servicing the ballast, and have the installation done by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes.
- Wire the ballast exactly as shown on its label and in the wiring diagram; ballast leads are color-coded per ANSI C82.11.
- For one-lamp operation, do not connect the yellow leads (wiring diagram 73).
- Ground the ballast case to the fixture.
- Use only the lamp types and lamp counts listed for this ballast, and remove a failed lamp promptly.
