GE Enclosed and Potted Metal Halide F-Cans combine the rugged durability and efficiency of high intensity discharge ballasts with the user-friendly envelope of a standard fluorescent-style ballast case, allowing for easier handling and mounting in exterior applications. GE F-Cans are made from high-grade steel laminations and tightly wound, vacuum-impregnated copper coils for superior heat dissipation and water resistance, encased in potting material for additional heat sinking and weather resistance, and secured in a durable white steel powder-coated box for corrosion protection and long life. This construction gives GE F-Cans cooler operating temperatures and better sound attenuation than standard core-and-coil ballasts, making them well suited to remote-mounted, indoor, and outdoor HID applications.
