GE 66951 Halogen Transformer - 75W Electronic Transformer. 24V. Input 120V / Output 23.2V, Trailing Edge Dimmable
The GE 66951 Halogen Transformer is a GE Lightech™ low-voltage electronic step-down transformer. It is a 75W Electronic Transformer. 24V. unit, converting 120V AC input to 23.2V output across a 20-75W load range, with Trailing Edge dimming compatibility. Note: Matched by wattage and output voltage (75W, 24V output) to GE order code 66951 — the only 75W/24V unit in the current GE Lightech catalog. The legacy Lightech "LET 75 24 R" designation does not appear in this catalog's text, so the "R" suffix could not be confirmed; flagged for Frank to verify against the physical unit or packaging.
This transformer should be selected by matching the GE order code, input voltage, output wattage range, lead exit type, and case dimensions to the existing transformer or fixture being replaced.

Product Overview
GE Lightech™ Low-Voltage Halogen Electronic Transformers combine the engineering of Lightech, now part of GE, with GE's manufacturing and support. They use an Auto-Thermal Regulation process that proportionally dims output voltage above 90°C, a self-preserving 125°C thermal cut-off, and field-effect transistors for higher efficiency, smaller size, and longer life than transformers built with bipolar transistors, running up to 95% efficient at full load.

Before Ordering Verify
- Exact GE Order Code: Match GE 66951 to the existing transformer label or fixture documentation.
- Input Voltage: Confirm the fixture supply matches 120V.
- Output Wattage Range: Confirm the connected lamp load falls within 20-75W.
- Dimming: Confirm the dimmer is compatible with Trailing Edge dimming.
- Lead Exit & Mounting: Confirm Side lead exit and case dimensions (2.1" x 1.3" x 0.79") fit the available space.
- Cross-Reference: Matched by wattage and output voltage (75W, 24V output) to GE order code 66951 — the only 75W/24V unit in the current GE Lightech catalog. The legacy Lightech "LET 75 24 R" designation does not appear in this catalog's text, so the "R" suffix could not be confirmed; flagged for Frank to verify against the physical unit or packaging.
Safety & Installation Guidelines
- Qualified Installation: Transformers should be installed by qualified personnel following applicable electrical codes.
- Disconnect Power: Turn off and lock out power before removing or installing a transformer.
- Minimum/Maximum Load: Keep the connected lamp load within the rated 20-75W range; operating outside this range can cause overheating or premature failure.
- Thermal Protection: This unit is rated to a 90°C case temperature with a self-preserving 125°C thermal cut-off; do not install in enclosed spaces that exceed the rated ambient temperature.
- Wiring Diagram: Follow the wiring diagram referenced on the transformer label before installation.
