Product Overview

EntryLED™ T8 Type A lamps are an energy-saving alternative engineered to operate on existing compatible ballasts. They provide fluorescent lamp performance with the basic efficiency of LED, with no mercury, instant light and uniform light distribution. Because the ballast stays in the circuit, no rewiring is needed for installation on a compatible ballast; this is the key difference from the Type B ballast-free lamps in the same product line.

Compatibility is limited to select instant start electronic T8 ballasts. The lamp is not intended for magnetic, rapid start, programmed rapid start or dimming ballasts, for older dedicated voltage (120V, 277V or 347V) ballasts whose electronic components can degrade over time, or for ballasts more than ten years old. Due to the number of ballast designs, versions and topologies, the manufacturer recommends testing the lamp on the existing ballast before installing in quantity.

For proper use and warranty coverage, the installer must consult the manufacturer's ballast compatibility list to confirm that the lamp and ballast combination is approved. No delamping is allowed; if a lamp fails, replace it immediately to avoid an N-1 condition. Do not combine these lamps with other LED or fluorescent lamps on the same ballast.
