The GE 14672 LU70/ECO/NC is a 70-watt Ecolux® NC non-cycling HPS lamp with a ED23.5 bulb and E39 Mogul Screw base, designed for HPS ballast circuits rated ANSI S62. It delivers 6,300 initial lumens at 1900K and is rated for 30,000 hours.

Product Overview

The GE LU70/ECO/NC is a 70-watt Ecolux® NC non-cycling HPS lamp. It ships with a ED23.5 bulb envelope on a E39 Mogul Screw base and is built to operate on an HPS ballast rated ANSI S62. Output is 6,300 initial lumens (5,670 mean lumens) at 1900K and 23 CRI, with a warm amber HPS color.

The Ecolux® NC non-cycling feature makes locating and replacing end-of-life lamps quick and easy. These lamps are low-mercury, pass TCLP, use a lead-free base.

Not recommended for: retail displays, color-critical inspection environments, or any application requiring CRI above 23.

Safety and Handling Guidelines

• Correct Ballast Required: Use only with an HPS-compatible ballast and ignitor rated for this lamp. An incompatible ballast can cause lamp failure or fixture damage.
• Vacuum Jacket: This is a vacuum jacket lamp and may implode if broken. Wear safety glasses and gloves when installing or removing the lamp, and allow it to cool fully first.
• Sodium Content: The lamp contains sodium — avoid skin contact with broken pieces (chemical burn risk).
• Warm-Up / Restrike: Per GE, HPS lamps take about 3–4 minutes to reach 90% light output after starting, and about 1 minute after a brief power interruption.
• Approved Fixtures Only: Install only in fixtures rated for the listed lamp type, wattage, and operating position; do not use if the outer glass is scratched or broken.
• Mercury Content: Contains mercury. Do not dispose of in regular trash; recycle through an approved lamp recycling program in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Ecolux® lamps use a lead-free base and pass TCLP per the GE catalog, which can lower disposal costs.
• Contains mercury — subject to applicable lamp recycling and disposal regulations. California, Washington, and other states may have mandatory take-back or handling fee requirements.
