Standby (SBY/XL) lamps feature hot-restrike capability — the lamp stays on a standby circuit after arc extinguishment, allowing immediate restart without the 10–20 minute cool-down required by standard HPS. Ideal for security, retail, and facilities requiring uninterrupted illumination.
