The ballast dims continuously from 100% down to 3% of rated light output via a connected 0-10V controller (Class 1 or Class 2 LV circuit). Rapid start (programmed) preheats cathodes before ignition, supporting reliable deep-dimming performance and extended lamp life under the variable duty cycles typical of dimming installations. Important — minimum starting temperature varies by dim level and voltage: at 100% output, minimum starting temperature is 10°F across all lamp types; at 3% output on 120V, minimum starting temperature rises to 15°F; at 3% output on 277V, it rises further to 30°F. This is a meaningful difference from a flat single-temperature rating, and should be factored into cold-environment or unheated-space installations where the system may regularly operate at deep dim levels.
