The Sylvania 64046 M250/U/PS/U/ED28 is a 250W Pulse-Start Metal Halide (PSMH) Metalarc lamp for commercial and industrial HID lighting in high-bay, outdoor, and area lighting applications. Pulse-start technology combines proven metal halide arc-tube design with ignitor technology for faster warm-up, high lumen maintenance, and reduced color shift over life compared to standard probe-start metal halide lamps.

Operating position: Universal (may be operated in any position). Ballasts with sustaining voltage below 270V may significantly reduce lamp life.

Fixture requirement: Enclosed fixture only (E-type)

Requires a pulse-start compatible HID ballast matched to ANSI M153/E and a pulse-rated mogul HID socket. Mercury content — dispose per local, state, or federal regulations.

Applications

• Commercial and industrial HID lighting – High-bay, outdoor, and area lighting for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and similar fixture applications.
• Retrofit and maintenance replacement – Verify ANSI code, wattage, bulb shape, and operating position before ordering. Pulse-start lamps require a pulse-start ballast — not interchangeable with probe-start ballasts.
