This Universal Lighting Technologies ballast is a microprocessor-controlled, resonance-start electronic ballast built specifically for a single 39W M130/C130 ceramic metal halide lamp. Active power factor correction keeps power factor above 95% across both 120V and 277V operation, while the abnormal-operation shutdown circuit and end-of-lamp-life (EOL) protection guard against nuisance failures – a shutdown from an abnormal condition requires the line voltage to be reset before the ballast restarts.

The built-in 120V IDTP tap supplies power to the heaters of 3- or 4-wire self-heating thermal protectors, and the ballast can alternatively run as a standard HID ballast across the full 120V-277V range with the tap lead capped off. No PCBs are used in construction, and the unit carries cULus Outdoor Type 1 listing with thermal protection built in.
