The Philips Advance Centium ICN-2S24-N is a programmed-start electronic ballast that operates one or two F24T5/HO lamps on any supply voltage from 120V to 277V. Programmed-start circuitry preheats the lamp electrodes before ignition, which helps extend lamp life where lights are switched often, for example on occupancy sensors or daylight-harvesting controls. It also runs one F39T5/HO lamp and a range of 4-pin long compact and circline lamps, listed below.

Product Overview
The ICN-2S24-N belongs to the Centium family of Philips Advance T5HO ballasts. It is a 24W-class ballast: it drives one or two F24T5/HO lamps, and it also handles a single F39T5/HO lamp and the 4-pin long compact and circline lamps shown in the compatibility list. Programmed-start operation, end-of-life protection and auto-restrike are built in, so the ballast restarts a replaced lamp without a power reset and shuts a failed lamp down safely.
- Programmed start: preheats the lamp electrodes before ignition, which can extend lamp life in applications with frequent switching, such as occupancy sensors, motion detectors and daylight harvesting.
- IntelliVolt multi-voltage input: one ballast operates on any supply voltage from 120V through 277V (50/60 Hz), which simplifies ordering and installation.
- Auto-restrike: restarts lamps after a lamp is replaced without having to reset power.
- Lamp end-of-life (EOL) protection: safely removes power from a lamp when it fails.
- High-frequency operation (42–52 kHz): designed to avoid interference with infrared devices and anti-theft systems and to eliminate visible flicker.

Before Ordering
- Confirm the lamp type and lamp count match the table above. This ballast runs only one F39T5/HO lamp; if you need two F39T5/HO lamps on one ballast, ask us about catalog number ICN-2S39.
- Check your supply voltage is between 120V and 277V (50/60 Hz).
- Case size can differ between catalog-number suffixes. Compare the case size on your existing ballast with the ballast you are ordering so it fits your fixture.
- Programmed-start ballasts are the right match for frequently switched circuits. Do not use this ballast with lamps or lamp counts that are not listed.
Safety and Handling
- Turn off power at the breaker before installing or servicing the ballast, and have the installation done by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes.
- Wire the ballast exactly as shown on its label and in the wiring diagram; ballast leads are color-coded per ANSI C82.11.
- For one-lamp operation, do not connect the yellow leads (wiring diagram 73).
- Ground the ballast case to the fixture.
- Use only the lamp types and lamp counts listed for this ballast, and remove a failed lamp promptly.
