Rated lumen output is at 35°C ambient; cooler starting conditions will produce somewhat lower initial output that stabilizes as the lamp warms to operating temperature. Per NEMA guidance, high-frequency electronic ballasts for T4 compact fluorescent lamps should incorporate an end-of-life shutdown circuit — an abnormal end-of-life failure mode exists where the lamp can overheat at the base, potentially cracking the bulb wall or melting the base/socket.
