The Philips Advance E-Vision IMH-150-H-BLS is a high-efficiency electronic ballast engineered for 150W pulse-start Metal Halide lamps, compatible with ANSI codes M102, M142, and E. IntelliVolt technology automatically operates on either 120V or 277V input without voltage-specific configuration, simplifying specification across mixed-voltage commercial and industrial facilities.
Electronic operation provides higher efficiency, greater lumen maintenance, longer lamp life, and enhanced color control compared to magnetic ballast alternatives. The metallic enclosure offers superior heat transfer over plastic housings, improving thermal performance and long-term durability. EOL detection removes power from lamps that fail to ignite or behave erratically at end of life — preventing lamp cycling, enhancing safety, and protecting the ballast circuit. Resettable thermal protection shuts down the ballast if case temperature is exceeded and automatically resets when it cools.
Important installation note: If the lamp fails to ignite, the ballast will shut down output after 20 minutes. Power must be cycled off and back on after replacing the lamp to restart the ballast. When using screw-base lamps, connect the red lead to the center terminal of the lamp socket.
